AirTegrity Wireless Debuts New 900 MHz and 4.9 GHz Capabilities for its WiFi Networking SystemsSep 12, 2006
Contact: STATELINE, NV – AirTegrity Wireless, dedicated to developing industry-leading wireless communications solutions for global applications, today introduced new 900 MHz and 4.9 GHz capabilities for its line of Base Stations, Access Points, Gateways, Ethernet Bridges and Customer Premise Equipment (CPEs). The AirTegrity Series of WiFi networking equipment is designed for use by wireless ISPs, Telcos (last mile access), service providers, small to mid-size business enterprises and small office/home office networks. These new capabilities offer AirTegrity customers the option of using 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz, 5.8 GHz and the 4.9 GHz public safety band, alone or in combination with up to three frequency bands per device. AirTegrity subscriber stations provide a cost effective means of offering data, Voice over IP (VoIP), and streaming video service to areas where traditional wire-line is either not installed or too costly to install. AirTegrity networking products include built-in firewalls and the most secure encryption technology available, including AES, DES and 3DES, which provides exceptional security for commercial enterprise or residential-based network environments. In addition, the stations have proven their ability to operate reliably in exceptionally harsh weather conditions. “The high cost of reliable wireless networking products has been a barrier to widespread adoption of this promising technology,” said Greg Phillips, CEO and CTO, AirTegrity Wireless. “With these new WiFi networking products, we have combined the high performance and high security needed for effective wireless connectivity with proven, durable products at a price point that makes it easy for customers to deploy wireless connectivity. These new products demonstrate that AirTegrity can deliver a high performance solution combined with a low cost of ownership.” The new 4.9 GHz frequencies can be used by law enforcement or public safety officials to provide a new means of electronic surveillance and communications. Police cars can be equipped with radios that allow officers to monitor video security cameras, and to quickly transmit images of missing persons. Fire departments can obtain building layout information while responding. And Homeland Security can use the WiFi stations to monitor port activity.
