Triple Radio Architecture
The AT3300 Series Triple Radio Backhaul, Relay & Hotspot Stations feature a combination of three 802.11 WiFi radios and one antenna embedded in a single housing. Functioning with AT4000 Series Base Station controllers, AT3604 Sector Controllers and AT1500 Series CPE as part of an AirTegrity Smart Network, AT3300 Series Station act as relay nodes in a mesh network configuration supporting an 802.11 WiFi access point. Configurations include 900 MHz, 2.4GHz 802.11b/g and 5.8GHz 802.11a unlicensed radios, and 4.9 GHz licensed radios for Public Safety. External antennas are available for all four frequency bands, and integrated flat panel antennas for select 2.4 GHz, 4.9 GHz or 5 GHz applications.
Triple Radio Advantage
This powerful three radio architecture enables bandwidth to be backhauled from the mesh, distributed as a WiFi signal and relayed upstream in the mesh over three separate channels. Bridging bandwidth between radios over separate channels provides superior performance over single radio ad-hoc or dual radio ad-hoc approaches to mesh networking. When a complete network is comprised of single radio mesh nodes there is only one channel on which all nodes communicate with each other. Data packets are sent from node to node in a store-andforward manner. Each node has to receive the data packets then retransmit them. These operations cannot occur simultaneously because, with a single radio channel, simultaneous transmission and reception would interfere with each other. This inability to send and receive at the same time leads to a bandwidth degradation of 50%. In essence a network’s bandwidth is cut in half each time it attempts to relay data packets up and down the mesh.
Triple Radio WiFi Relay Subscriber Station
As part of the AirTegrity family of solutions, AT3300 WiFi Relay Subscriber Stations are fully functional, low cost triple 802.11x radio units. Designed with a stylish and rugged outdoor NEMA 4X rated enclosure, the AT3300 offers a 10/100 Ethernet port supporting the Power-over- Ethernet standard.
Residential and Commercial Service
Functioning with AT4000A base station controllers, AT3604 BTS/AP's, and AT1505 CPE, the AT3300 Series Triple Radio Backhaul, Relay and Hotspot Stations provide an easily deployable and rugged solution to backhaul hotspot applications. It can also be used to overcome NLOS (non-line of site) issues or to function as a repeater extending the range of base stations to CPE. The AT3300 supports Firewall, the most secure encryption techniques available including AES, VPN and VLAN enabling this Series to function securely in both enterprise and residential settings.
