Video Surveillance and Broadband Wireless Access Datasheet
Video SurveillanceAs IP based surveillance systems consisting of cameras and digital video servers (DVSs) replace traditional analog technology, high speed networks are increasingly used to support IP based systems. Sending video over a computer network yields significant savings by using an existing computer network to monitor a remote site. By using a high-speed wireless network, Homeland Security, public safety and industrial security systems can be deployed faster and at lower costs than they can using structured network cabling.
Video Backhaul with WirelessAn AirTegrity smart network provides the bandwidth, reliability and security to monitor live video streams from remote video cameras at a central command center, or on a laptop or PC anywhere internet access exists. Independent of wires, cameras can be located conveniently and cost-effectively almost anywhere with a point-to-point or point-to-multi-point wireless network. Without having to home run cabling back to a command center, the size of security system can be limitless. An AirTegrity smart network allows for deployment of a large scale network in a matter days as opposed to weeks or months, and at a fraction of the cost of an IP system using traditional structured cabling.
Homeland SecurityAn AirTegrity Smart Network facilitates large scale Homeland Security video surveillance projects for ports, bridges, military bases, public stadiums, special events and other high profile targets. The system can provide a virtual infrastructure to provide real time video transmission to public safety first responders and mobile command centers. It can also enhance inter-operability by providing shared data to multiple public agencies.
The AirTegrity Smart Network
The AirTegrity family of products is a series of plug and play modules including a perimeter base station, sector controllers, relay subscriber stations, and customer premise equipment (CPE). AirTegrity modules are capable of operating in both licensed and unlicensed frequencies enabling service providers to operate reliably in dense RF environments while supporting bandwidth and distance requirements of specific points and subscribers.
AirTegrity’s dual radio modules (3100 Series) function in a relay or backhaul to a hotspot enabling networks to be configured around line of site obstructions or provide 802.11a/b/g WiFi access to numerous users with 802.11 WiFi compliant devices. AirTegrity high speed networks support data rate throughput of up to 40 Mbps ensuring delivery of streaming full motion video traffic. In addition, powerful routing protocols including Digital Vector Multicast Routing Protocol (DVMRP) enable routing of video traffic to specific points in a network with a minimum of bandwidth degradation. This conservation of bandwidth enhances reliability of links carrying video traffic. AirTegrity modules support 3DES and AES encryption ensuring network security.
